IV Team Nurse Faulkner
About The Position
The Registered Nurse is a Massachusetts-licensed professional nurse accountable for planning and providing care to assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care in the Nursing Department’s Clinical Practice Manual. The nurse demonstrates initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs, and manages care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role is directly responsible to a designated Nursing Director or supervisor and supports the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice. This is an onsite position at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain. The schedule is 40 hours per week on a rotating day/evening shift, with every-other-weekend and holiday rotation. The hospital is a nonprofit community teaching hospital and a Magnet-designated institution.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Massachusetts Registered Nurse licensure.
- Observational skills and ability to set priorities.
- Ability to function under stress, with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effective teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time and priority management skills.
Nice To Haves
- IV-guided ultrasound experience.
- Medical/surgical/telemetry experience, strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Plan and provide patient care for assigned patients according to Nursing Standards of Care and the Nursing Department’s Clinical Practice Manual.
- Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care, taking full responsibility for managing assigned patients.
- Demonstrate initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills when caring for patients with complex needs.
- Practice the Patient and Family Centered Care Model and exemplify best practice.
- Adhere to C.A.R.E. standards and hospital standards for service, teamwork, communication, respect, and time and priority management.
