About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an ITS/Traffic Engineering Intern to join our Edison, New Jersey office. This role involves assisting engineers with traffic and ITS projects, supporting data collection and analysis, preparing reports and technical documents, and participating in traffic studies and signal analyses. The intern will also help with transportation planning tasks, field visits, data collection activities, and the development/review of engineering drawings. A key aspect of the role is learning industry tools, standards, and best practices in transportation engineering and ITS.

Requirements

• Must have completed at least 90 hours towards a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university by the start of the internship (Spring 2027).
• Basic knowledge of traffic engineering principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Nice To Haves

• No experience is generally required if accepted into a Civil Engineering Bachelor's degree program

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with traffic and ITS projects.
