About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Network/ITS Technician with a wide variety of experience to join their team in Louisiana. This role will support the growing ITS / Traffic engineering group on various projects across Louisiana and potentially other states in the Gulf Region. The technician will be responsible for the integration and maintenance of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and network devices, including CCTV systems, dynamic message signs, travel time readers, and vehicle detection devices. This includes configuration, installation, and upkeep of critical communications systems like Layer 2/3 network switches, cellular routers, fiber optic networks, and wireless radio systems. The role also involves troubleshooting Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) issues to ensure seamless connectivity and system performance.

Requirements

4 or more years of experience in specialist/technical area of work such as ethernet switches, wireless radio’s, fiber optics, and CCTV systems.
Willingness to travel throughout the Southeast United States.
Willingness to work in outdoor environments, including major transportation routes.
Comfortable working near traffic and at heights greater than 10 feet.
Understanding of, or a willingness to learn, CCTV systems, communications network infrastructure, and electrical systems.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Intelligent Transportation System Devices including, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Dynamic Messaging Signs (DMS), Vehicle Detection Devices and others.
Working with aerial equipment including manlifts and bucket trucks.
Tower Safety and Rescue Certifications or the willingness to obtain after hire.
NFPA 70 Electrical or the willingness to obtain after hire.
IMSA Traffic Signal Technician or the willingness to obtain after hire.
Class B Commercial Driver’s License.
Fiber Optic and/or Wireless Communications.

Responsibilities

Integration and maintenance of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and network devices, including CCTV systems, dynamic message signs, travel time readers, and vehicle detection devices.

Troubleshooting Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) issues to ensure seamless connectivity and system performance across the assigned region.
Prioritizing health and safety in all aspects of their role, adhering to best practices and regulations.
Maintaining awareness of potential hazards in outdoor and high-traffic areas.
