About The Position

At HNTB, this position performs moderately supervised work in a team environment, assisting an assigned department with engineering-related tasks such as research, development, calculations, design, and project delivery. The role supports the planning, design, and delivery of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSM&O) projects. It draws on construction expertise while offering the opportunity to expand into ITS design, project delivery, and program management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or a related field and 3 years of relevant experience; or an Associate's degree in Drafting and 5 years of relevant experience; or 7 years of related experience in lieu of education.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with FDOT ITS standards, specifications, and construction practices.
• Knowledge of ITS infrastructure, including devices, cabinets, communications, power, and related field systems.
• Interest in expanding into ITS design, project delivery, and program management responsibilities.
• IMSA Traffic Signal Technician certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or modify project reports, plans, and designs.
• Develop project quantity and cost estimates.
• Assist engineering teams with organizing and administering design files.
• Support the planning, design, and delivery of ITS and TSM&O projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
