This position involves instructing students in history, aesthetics, criticism, and production within the theater arts, specifically for students identified as talented in this area. The teacher is responsible for developing a curriculum tailored to each talented student's individual education program, completing all necessary records and reports accurately and on time, and encouraging parent involvement through conferences to keep them informed of student progress. The role also acts as a resource for administrators, teachers, and parents regarding drama, music, or visual arts. The teacher is expected to create an aesthetic environment conducive to talent development, provide opportunities for students to showcase their talents, and foster an understanding of the arts that promotes creative thought processes beyond mere representation. The teacher will perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
