About The Position

SAP America, Inc. seeks an IT Technology Services Senior Specialist at our Houston, TX location to design and develop systems, applications, products, services and data to optimize and automate SAP’s business processes and improve work efficiency. This role involves engaging with business stakeholders and other technology teams to deliver solutions, performing complex data and system development, and ensuring stable, secure, and high-performing operations for system and cloud services. The specialist will also facilitate agile engagement with the business, revise and update existing programs, and enhance complex systems/processes. The role represents SAP to customers, communicates clearly, and advocates for the end user by understanding their needs and usage patterns. Promoting User Experience through contemporary user-centered design methodologies is also a key aspect. The specialist develops and provides systems, applications, products, and services to optimize/automate business processes and improve work efficiency, offering expert support in operations. They will revise and update existing programs, provide required documentation, and facilitate the service and product lifecycle. Additionally, the role includes executing technical feasibility studies, solution reviews, defining and reviewing technical blueprints, customizing and developing enhancements, implementing solutions, and providing technical documentation. The specialist will execute and support problem management and continuous improvement, participate in de-escalation activities, contribute to the Build to Run engagement, and contribute to the definition of technical standards and frameworks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• Experience must include four (4) years involving each of the following:
• Architect, build, test, maintain and operate SAP systems;
• Driving SAP S/4HANA migration, upgrade, and conversion projects from on-premises or hybrid environments to cloud-native solutions across major hyperscalers including AWS, GCP Or Azure;
• Facilitating expert support in software selection, technical planning, and vendor coordination, while guiding IT and SAP lifecycles with strategic insight;
• Analyzing and implementing SAP support methodology and offering comprehensive knowledge on SAP S/4HANA architecture;
• SAP High Availability and Disaster Recovery HA/DR architecture and utilizing load balancers and virtual machines for system resilience;
• Addressing security risks, and resolving outages through root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions;
• SAP cloud solutions and integration scenarios of SAP systems with SCP, Ariba, and SuccessFactors;
• Driving strategic SAP direction by aligning Short & Long-term IT investments with business goals, coordinating vendors, and advising customer on technical needs;
• Implementing and managing SAP Solution Manager, SAP Analytics Cloud, and secure authentication protocols (SSO, SPNEGO, and Kerberos) across complex landscapes; and
• SOLMAN/FRUN, Cloud ALM, SAP Cockpit 2.0, and HDBCON Utility for landscape management, database monitoring, and system diagnostics.
