About The Position

The Temporary IT Technician provides county customers with excellent customer service experiences, reliable communication, accurate issue assessment and lasting resolutions that support the customers' business processes. The Temporary IT Technician is responsible to proactive end-user focused technical support of workstations, laptops, printers, virtual desktops, and other supported peripheral devices. This position will act as a subject matter expert for end-user computing experiences and provide comprehensive support for component systems and services.

Requirements

  • Three years of technology-related experience to include performing a combination of installing, loading, configuring microcomputer hardware and software, detecting/resolving computer and printer problems.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in desktop or helpdesk support in an enterprise PC environment.
  • PowerShell, Tanium, SCCM, Workspace One or Intune experience.
  • Experience with user and device management in Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Endpoint solution management experience.
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM) experience.
  • Experience with Windows 11, Microsoft O365, and image creation.
  • CompTIA A+, or ITIL Foundations.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop hardware, software, systems, and peripherals.
  • Participate in large-scale departmental technology refreshes.
  • Maintain accurate inventories.
  • Assist with equipment moves, unloading new equipment, and disposing of old equipment to salvage vendors.
  • Meet customer demands, prioritize workloads, and coordinate activities.
  • Ensure that activities comply with industry best practices and Maricopa County standards.
  • Works closely with other groups to coordinate plans and activities to facilitate specific business outcomes.
  • Identifies potential service level problems before they occur.
  • Maintains a high level of communication with customers with respect to scheduling support call follow-up and confirmation of resolution.
  • Manage service ticket queues and resolve daily hardware and software support issues.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and top-tier onsite support.
  • Research industry trends, technologies, and standards, providing proactive recommendations to supervisors or management.
