About The Position

RLG is seeking a versatile and highly capable IT Technician / AI Workflow Engineer / Cybersecurity Specialist to own the firm's entire technology infrastructure. This is a unique, high-impact role that spans traditional IT management, cutting-edge AI workflow automation, cybersecurity compliance, web development, and mobile app development. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment, can work independently, and is excited about building technology systems from the ground up. You will work directly with firm leadership and have the opportunity to shape how RLG and its affiliated entities operate for years to come.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in IT support, cybersecurity, AI/automation development, or a related field
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem: Azure AD, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Power Automate
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining AI tools and workflow automation platforms
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, SOC 2, or equivalent)
  • Web development skills including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with React or a similar framework
  • Native iOS and/or Android app development (Swift, Kotlin, React Native, or Flutter) — a MAJOR plus; RLG is actively looking to develop mobile applications
  • Experience with document automation in a legal or financial services environment
  • Familiarity with New York State data privacy laws and legal industry compliance requirements
  • Hands-on API integration experience (REST, webhooks, OAuth)
  • Prior experience working at a law firm, title company, or financial institution

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain all IT systems for RLG and its affiliated entities, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure
  • Manage the Microsoft 365 environment (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Azure AD), including user accounts, licensing, and access controls
  • Configure and maintain printers, scanners, workstations, and mobile devices across firm locations
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for hardware procurement, maintenance, and support contracts
  • Monitor system performance, manage updates and patches, and ensure reliable uptime across all platforms
  • Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity protocols across all firm systems and endpoints
  • Enforce data encryption standards and secure handling protocols for confidential client documents and transaction records
  • Ensure compliance with New York data privacy requirements and applicable legal industry security standards
  • Establish and manage phishing prevention measures, endpoint protection, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) policies
  • Define and enforce role-based access controls (RBAC) and least-privilege principles across all platforms
  • Develop and maintain an incident response plan; lead response and remediation in the event of a security event
  • Conduct periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Build and maintain AI-powered automation workflows using Microsoft Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, and similar platforms
  • Automate document intake, routing, review, and processing workflows for real estate closings and legal transactions
  • Develop AI-driven tools to reduce manual workload and streamline legal operations firm-wide
  • Continuously evaluate emerging AI tools and automation technologies for potential adoption at RLG
  • Document all automation workflows and maintain version-controlled process libraries
  • Build, maintain, and enhance firm websites and client-facing portals for RLG and affiliated entities
  • Handle front-end and back-end web development, ensuring performance, accessibility, and security
  • Apply SEO fundamentals to improve firm visibility and search rankings
  • Implement and monitor web security protocols to protect against unauthorized access and data exposure
  • Develop and maintain native iOS and Android mobile applications — this is a major plus and a significant area of investment for RLG
  • Connect, configure, and manage third-party integrations including WhatsApp Business, Plaid, SharePoint, OneDrive, CRM tools, and Meta/Facebook platforms
  • Build and maintain API integrations to automate data flows between firm systems and external services
  • Ensure all integrations adhere to security and data privacy requirements
  • Troubleshoot integration failures and ensure continuity of business-critical workflows
  • Provide responsive, hands-on IT support to attorneys and staff at all firm locations
  • Develop and deliver training sessions to onboard staff onto new tools, workflows, and platforms
  • Create clear, accessible documentation and user guides for firm technology systems
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for day-to-day technology questions and issues
