About The Position

Ensures network infrastructure and information technology systems are working efficiently, effectively and securely. Assists IT Technical Administrator in system maintenance and upgrades. Assists IT users with system operations and hardware problems.

Requirements

• Six years experience of information technology including network management and hardware/software maintenance OR an Associate’s Degree in an IT related field and three years experience in IT.
• Skilled in database management and SQL operations.
• Strong workstation and network troubleshooting skills.
• Good understanding of network and workstation software use and capabilities.
• Good communication skills; able to share technical information in understandable terms to technology users.
• Willing to be on-call and to work late, if necessary, in case of serious network malfunction.
• Knowledgeable in the use and maintenance of Ubuntu servers and desktops.
• Proficient in Windows Active Directory, Windows Terminal Services, Windows Professional and MS Office 365 Applications.

Responsibilities

• Works with IT Administrator to maintain OGC intranet and improve functionality of OGC software and systems.
• Assists in database management.
• Maintains network system, installs new hardware, and makes modifications to network system, as required.
• Performs diagnostic tests to ensure integrity of system and upgrades and maintains firewall and security software on a regular basis.
• Installs and maintains peripheral devices including printers, routers and other hardware.
• Troubleshoots and assists users with any hardware or software needs.
• Works with IT Administrator to assess hardware and software needs and recommends changes and upgrades.
• In the absence of IT Administrator, works with Director of Logistic Services to oversee Information Technology tasks and functions.
