About The Position

The IT Tech will be responsible for maintaining internal system and application efficiency and uptime, performing application maintenance and system upgrades, configuring and installing network devices, analyzing system logs, and updating Google suite of products. This role also involves managing, administering, and supporting Toast Point of Sale (POS) systems, including configurations, user management, menu rollouts, and issue resolution. The IT Tech will also provide IT ticket and 1st Line support, manage helpdesk tickets, assist with hardware and device management, and update delivery partner systems. Key responsibilities include administering M365 licensing, GPO creation, and Microsoft product family, as well as advanced knowledge of IP networking, CLI scripting, LAN/WAN routing, switching, VLAN segmentation, VPN tunneling, and advanced Firewalls. The position requires previous restaurant IT experience and reliable transportation as 70% of the day is spent on the road.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain internal system and application efficiency and uptime.
  • Perform application maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.
  • Configure and install various network devices and services including wireless networks.
  • Analyze system logs, identify potential issues with systems, and implement improvements.
  • Update and maintain Google suite of products for the company.
  • Manage, administer, and support Toast Point of Sale (POS) systems and other systems.
  • Oversee day-to-day POS configurations and integrated applications, including new locations and users, menu and menu rollout implementation, and promotions.
  • Ensure the integrity of the POS system and maximize its usefulness for various users.
  • Identify and resolve POS issues with vendors and internal teams.
  • Lead department-wide POS data reporting, including sales, sales mix reporting, and promotion results.
  • Work with vendors to facilitate equipment sourcing, costing, inventory, and installation support of all internal POS systems.
  • Create, maintain, and revise technical documentation, updating and communicating to the Operations team and other stakeholders.
  • Support ongoing operational processes related to store-level functions such as restaurant openings, training, and menu rollouts.
  • Document policies, procedures, and processes to ensure information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Create and maintain strong system controls and user permissions, including the implementation of a secure PAM program.
  • Partner with finance in reviewing cash variations and irregular transactions.
  • Assist Finance in setting up departmental and property reports, analyses, and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team in identifying and executing analysis opportunities.
  • Evaluate current business processes and identify ways to improve productivity, reduce costs, and ensure effective resource utilization.
  • Adapt quickly and effectively to procedural changes and assist with other special projects.
  • Ensure that required licensing is maintained and updated.
  • Use personal device/cellular phone for job-related operational tasks, job duties, and review of company documents.
  • Provide IT ticket and 1st Line support to internal customers in person, via phone, Microsoft Teams, Slack, and email within agreed SLAs.
  • Investigate ticket issues through to resolution and make recommendations to improve processes.
  • Log and manage tickets through the JIRA helpdesk.
  • Assist with internal IT, hardware, and device management and asset tracking.
  • Assist with the development of new menus within the Toast POS system.
  • Create and update dish recipes within a stock system to specification within R365.
  • Update delivery partner systems to specification for menu launches.
  • Perform ad-hoc and scheduled administrative changes to operational systems, including workforce management and table management.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly user administration duties.
  • Maintain all service requests through the Jira ticket system.
  • Act as a key person for POS, PMS, and other hospitality system implementations.
  • Administer new users and user rights to network and software.
  • Perform audits and updates as applicable.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
  • Recommend new processes, or changes in processes, to achieve business goals, following best practices and standards.
  • Work with vendors and make system feature upgrade requests as necessary.
  • Assist the department by creating and maintaining comprehensive checklists for implementations, job tasks, FAQs, and troubleshooting information.
