About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Mid-Level DoW experienced IT Systems Manager to provide hands-on IT administration and systems management for a CENTCOM C‑UXS program. This role involves operating air-gapped NAS, sustaining COTS systems, coordinating interagency accreditation, and ensuring continuous compliance for enclaves holding federal law enforcement data. The position requires understanding and adhering to government-approved procedures, managing COTS software and licenses, operating and administering air-gapped NAS with a focus on security workflows and data handling, and providing IT support for various systems including Windows Server, Active Directory, and networked storage. The IT Systems Manager will also coordinate software updates, vulnerability remediation, and patch cycles with cybersecurity teams, support incident response, and participate in accreditation activities. Performance will be measured by repository/SharePoint and NAS uptime, timely completion of IT tasks, incident resolution, and successful accreditation package completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering Management, or related field and a minimum of 8 years’ experience in IT systems administration and/or management. An additional 4 years of experience in lieu of the bachelors degree many be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years supporting DoW, federal law enforcement, or Combatant Command environments.
  • Demonstrated administration experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, networked storage (NAS/SAN), and enterprise NAS platforms.
  • Hands‑on experience operating air‑gapped systems or managing sensitive/classified enclaves and media handling for federal data.
  • Experience configuring and managing IT networks in a deployed environment.
  • Experience installing, configuring, patching, and sustaining COTS software and managing licenses in isolated environments.
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • SharePoint Administration certification and familiarity with permitted M365 integrations (where authorized).
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Current passport.
  • Active DoW Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications: Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I or higher; CompTIA Security+CE or equivalent.
  • Experience with DISA STIGs, DoD IA requirements, and system accreditation processes.
  • Experience administering enterprise NAS platforms (NetApp, Isilon, Dell EMC) and secure staging/sanitizing procedures for removable media.
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python), basic SQL, and familiarity with DevSecOps/configuration management tools.
  • Prior program management or team lead experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands‑on IT administration and systems management for a CENTCOM C‑UXS program, in compliance with government-approved procedures.
  • Operate air‑gapped NAS, sustain COTS systems, and coordinate interagency accreditation.
  • Ensure continuous compliance for enclaves holding federal law enforcement data.
  • Maintain and administer approved COTS software and manage associated licenses, staging, configuration, patching, rollback plans, and lifecycle for accredited and air gapped deployments.
  • Operate and administer an air‑gapped NAS: secure ingestion workflows, ACLs, backups/restores, media handling, encryption‑at‑rest, hardware lifecycle, and physical/technical security procedures for federal law enforcement data.
  • Install, configure, patch, and sustain COTS computer systems and approved COTS software on unclassified enclaves; perform staging for air‑gapped deployments and manage licenses.
  • Provide hands‑on IT support and troubleshooting for NAS, file servers, Windows Server, Active Directory, networked storage (NAS/SAN), and permitted M365 integrations.
  • Provide hands‑on IT support to ensure organizational software and tools are loaded and working on corresponding hardware.
  • Coordinate COTS software updates, vulnerability remediation, and rollback plans with IA/ACM and system owners; ensure staging and installation procedures meet accreditation requirements.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity/IA teams to ensure compliance with STIGs, patch management, system scanning, and continuous monitoring for accredited enclaves.
  • Implement and maintain patch cycles, configuration management, and system hardening documentation.
  • Support incident response for system outages or suspected compromise; preserve forensic data‑at‑rest and coordinate evidence handling with IA/cyber and law enforcement partners.
  • Participate in accreditation, ATO/ATO‑maintenance activities, and prepare system documentation and evidence for authorization.
