Job Description: Job Disclosures: Location: This position is on-site at our Los Angeles location. Compensation: The salary range for this position is $129,493 to $145,680. Compensation is based on location and experience. Reporting to the Director of Facilities & Exhibition with an additional report line to the Director of IT, the IT Systems Manager will oversee all IT aspects of the Exhibit, remote locations and all events hosted by the facility as well as support the execution of all Exhibit projects and upgrades. Initially this position will work closely with the MW Inc. IT & Infrastructure team to learn Meow Wolf’s organizational IT standards, process, and culture. Will be expected to deal with a wide range of technical issues, and will benefit from a working knowledge of techniques, methods and standards of construction, electrical systems, computers, electronics, and emerging technologies. The IT Systems Manager will manage, schedule, plan, and execute the operational, logistical, and financial aspects of the IT department. This role will involve project management, design, hands-on installation and completion of projects, upgrades, and maintenance. The IT Systems Manager under direction of the Director of Facilities and Exhibition will be responsible for coordination of all internal resources, corporate resources, in-house and contract vendors and contractors as needed.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience working in IT operations
  • Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
  • Basic understanding of the OSI Model
  • Thorough understanding of Information Technology fundamentals through both study and practice
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to manage many different technical systems
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deeply nested sets of requirements and dependencies
  • High level of technical literacy, the ability to both manage and generally understand technical requirements
  • Ability to adopt new pieces of software to achieve job responsibilities
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a large creative team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage\maintain software and hardware for the following IT and Infrastructure systems at MW location in accordance with MW Inc. guidelines: Networking Hardware and Core IT Services Surveillance Access Control Point of Sale (PoS) Print/scan/copy Digital Signage Phones/teleconferencing rooms Network attached storage/backup device Cellular and UHF radio systems IT Software (user databases, security, monitoring, ticketing, etc) Staff computer support and training Network Security Staff and Exhibit Computers Backup and Recovery of Exhibit Show System computers
  • Establish day-to-day tasks and priorities.
  • Coordinate long term priorities, efforts, and upgrades with MW location & Infrastructure department; arranges for the repair and replacement within budgetary constraints; schedules and performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Interface with IT vendors (eg. Apple, Square, etc) as needed to coordinate deployment, service, and upgrades
  • Purchasing and provisioning of all IT hardware (eg. servers, monitors, routers, WAPs, switches, cameras, etc.)
  • Inventory of IT systems hardware at MW location in accordance with MW Inc. guidelines (eg. keyboards, monitors, routers, WAPs, switches, cameras, etc.): spec, order, track, deploy with coordination from MW Inc. IT Operations Manager as needed
  • Manage and maintain all IT system(s) policy and documentation at MW location in accordance with MW Inc. guidelines. This includes but is not limited to network configurations, networked devices schedule, wiring plans, data sheet archive, and operations manuals.
  • Recruits, schedules, and directs the work of a team which includes Helpdesk Engineers or System Administrators to provide support to all operation and administrative teams
  • Coordinate and Communicate with operations departments on network status
  • Assist and Coordinate with Exhibit Tech Team on Show Systems maintenance
  • Maintain the Exhibit and all back of house and technical spaces in a safe, organized, and clean state
  • Creates and maintains data to produce reports regarding expenditures, schedules, project estimates, and other matters.
  • Determines the necessary technical support required from outside entities to support the in-house team
  • Makes recommendations to the Director of Facilities & Exhibition regarding capital purchases of technical equipment, operating budgets and team training.
  • Establishing and maintaining all IT safety protocols and procedures and building codes in compliance with state and federal rules and regulations.
  • This role advances the organization by maintaining the highest level of services and support for employees and guests.
  • Other duties as assigned.
