About The Position

SilencerCo is seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our growing IT team. This role is ideal for a mid-career engineer who thrives in a hands-on environment, takes ownership of complex systems, and balances technical depth with strong customer service. You will support, secure, and improve our infrastructure across servers, networking, cloud services, identity, endpoints, and manufacturing systems. The position blends project work, system administration, security operations, and daily end-user support. The ideal candidate is autonomous, proactive, communicates professionally, and is approachable to employees across the business.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4-6 years of experience in systems engineering, systems administration, or IT infrastructure roles.
  • Hands-on experience with XenServer or similar virtualization platforms.
  • Strong skills with Entra ID and Windows Server administration.
  • Experience with Linux server administration.
  • Experience with Intune, Windows, and macOS endpoint management.
  • Experience administering AWS cloud services.
  • Solid understanding of networking, including firewalls, wireless, and switching.
  • Experience with security technologies such as IDS/IPS, antivirus, antimalware, SIEM, EDR, and other modern security monitoring or protection tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across servers, networks, cloud services, and endpoints.
  • Excellent professional communication and customer support skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of systems, and remain approachable.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Palo Alto, Aruba wireless, and HP switches is a plus.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or OT systems is a plus.
  • PowerShell, Python, Bash, or other scripting skills are a plus.
  • Industry certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, networking, or security) are helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain infrastructure including XenServer, Windows Server, AWS resources, Entra ID, and manufacturing systems.
  • Administer enterprise network technologies including Palo Alto firewalls, Aruba wireless, and HP switches.
  • Implement and maintain endpoint management through Intune, Windows, and macOS tools.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and security using tools such as Darktrace and SentinelOne.
  • Apply patches, updates, and secure configurations to servers, endpoints, and network devices.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues across infrastructure, networking, identity, cloud, and endpoints.
  • Provide professional, approachable support for escalated tickets and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Execute IT projects from planning through completion with minimal oversight.
  • Research, propose, and implement improvements that enhance security, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to after-hours incidents when needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for systems, configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Develop and improve SOPs, runbooks, and internal knowledge resources.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, positive IT culture with clear communication and shared ownership.
