IT Systems Engineer - Fabric & Power Platform

Ralliant
$83,400 - $155,000

About The Position

Ralliant is seeking a Microsoft 365 Power Platform Engineer to design and deliver analytics solutions with a strong focus on Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and AI-enabled analytics strategy. This role will play a key part in enabling AI-ready data foundations, supporting Copilot experiences, and operationalizing analytics and insights across the organization in a secure, governed, and scalable manner. The ideal candidate combines strong BI engineering skills with an understanding of how AI capabilities (Copilot, semantic models, data quality, and governance) depend on well-designed data platforms. You will partner with business stakeholders, security, and platform teams to ensure data products are optimized not only for reporting, but also for AI-driven insights and automation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience delivering BI or analytics solutions using Power BI and Microsoft data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, or strong prior experience with Power BI + Azure data services transitioning into Fabric.
  • Dimensional data modeling and semantic layer design
  • DAX optimization and performance tuning
  • Power Query (M) and data transformation best practices
  • Experience designing analytics solutions with AI and Copilot consumption in mind.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, security, and access control concepts.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with both Commercial and GCCH Microsoft environments.
  • Experience supporting Copilot or AI-assisted analytics scenarios in Microsoft Fabric or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Fabric capacity planning, cost management, and monitoring.
  • Experience with Purview, data cataloging, lineage, and metadata management.
  • Power Platform experience (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse).

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement end-to-end Microsoft Fabric solutions leveraging Lakehouse/Warehouse, Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and Fabric capacities.
  • Build scalable data ingestion, transformation, and modeling pipelines that support analytics, self-service BI, and downstream AI use cases.
  • Implement standardized medallion-style data architectures (e.g., bronze/silver/gold) with strong data quality, lineage, and observability.
  • Optimize Fabric workloads for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency, including capacity utilization and refresh strategies.
  • Develop enterprise-grade Power BI semantic models designed for reuse, performance, and AI-readiness.
  • Create and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards with a strong focus on usability, performance, and accessibility.
  • Apply advanced DAX and Power Query (M) techniques to optimize large models and complex datasets.
  • Implement and manage Power BI deployment pipelines, workspace strategies, and lifecycle management (dev/test/prod).
  • Design AI-ready data models and semantic layers that support Microsoft Copilot, natural language querying, and generative AI experiences.
  • Partner with architecture and AI teams to align Fabric and Power BI assets with the organization’s broader AI and Copilot strategy.
  • Ensure datasets are curated, documented, and governed to support trusted AI outputs (certified datasets, promoted models, consistent definitions).
  • Identify opportunities to embed AI-driven insights into Power BI, Power Apps, and Microsoft 365 workflows.
  • Contribute to enterprise standards for responsible AI enablement, including data quality, security boundaries, and explainability.
  • Build supporting Power Apps and Power Automate flows that extend analytics insights into operational workflows.
  • Integrate solutions with Microsoft 365 services (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook) for collaboration, distribution, and automation.
  • Implement and maintain data security, access controls, and governance policies, including RLS, sensitivity labels, and workspace controls.
  • Support Power BI and Fabric administration, including capacity monitoring, usage analysis, audit logs, and environment governance.
  • Produce audit-ready documentation: solution architectures, semantic model definitions, AI usage considerations, and operational runbooks.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to stakeholders during requirements gathering, solution design, and prioritization.

Benefits

  • This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.
