About The Position

Use your software development skills to support mission critical .NET applications at the Vermont Department of Health (VDH)! The Agency of Digital Services (ADS) is currently hiring a senior Windows, Web and API Software (.NET) Developer to design, develop, and maintain .NET software applications for VDH as part of a small team of Developers. This is a full-time permanent position with the State that comes with an excellent total compensation package.
A fingerprint-supported background check may be required based on the assigned job duties and location.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science AND two (2) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.
• OR
• Associate's degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 15 computer science credits AND four (4) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.
• OR
• Six (6) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.

Nice To Haves

• Windows and Web Software Development (especially .NET stack)
• Programming proficiency in .NET (VB or C#)
• XML, HTML, JQuery, Razor
• Azure Native Application development
• Agile Scrum

Responsibilities

• Designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting .NET software applications for VDH
• Collaborating with Database Administrators to design and develop databases in SQL Server to support VDH operations
• Configuring and deploying applications, APIs and jobs in Azure environment
• Complying with change management procedures for VDH software application deployments and modifications
• Studying existing VDH systems to evaluate effectiveness and developing new systems to improve production or workflow as required
• Maintaining cybersecurity of VDH systems and data
