The Information Technology Division (ITD) exists to leverage technology to enhance and sustain business processes, public safety infrastructure, and statewide emergency communications to facilitate the accomplishment of all agency goals. A System Administrator Senior position is responsible for all facets of IT infrastructure support, ensuring all hardware systems, cloud systems, and SaaS/PaaS systems are always fully functional. System Administration employees are also tasked with some Application administration duties for enterprise-level systems. This particular position is responsible for the implementation and administration of the agency's secure file transfer system, cluster and Virtual Machine (VM) systems, and the planning and support of general server infrastructure in multiple data centers and fourteen offices throughout Washington State. This support includes operational maintenance and health assessment of the systems, resolution of work order requests, patching, upgrading, configuration and change management, documentation, service mapping, hygiene assurance, threat assessment, and capacity planning. The position utilizes a client/server-based technical skillset and expertise to ensure systems continue to efficiently, securely, and robustly meet and exceed the needs of the agency now and in the future.
