About The Position

FIREFLY is seeking a casual Information Technology (IT) Support team member to help ensure our staff have the tools and support they need to deliver high-quality programs and services across our region. This role plays an important part in keeping our systems running smoothly and supporting day-to-day technology needs. As an IT Support team member, you will provide technical assistance across the organization, helping staff troubleshoot issues, maintain systems, and stay connected. Working closely with the Systems and Performance Management Team and reporting to the IT Manager, you will provide technical support and guidance to staff on computer hardware and software, respond to IT requests, diagnose issues, and resolve equipment or system problems, document and track reported issues and resolutions, set up and configure applications, systems, hardware, and peripherals, support network systems and provide backup technical assistance as needed, monitor and assist with anti-virus, security measures, and system updates, assist with maintaining the agency intranet, SharePoint, and website, escalate unresolved technical issues to the Senior IT Support, and travel to FIREFLY locations to provide on-site support as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience supporting computer systems, hardware, and software in a workplace setting
  • Familiarity with Microsoft environments (e.g. Azure, Active Directory, SharePoint, Intune)
  • Experience providing user support and troubleshooting technical issues
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Clear communication and ability to explain technical concepts in plain language
  • Strong organization, time management, and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to customer service and supporting staff needs
  • Ability to manage conflict and problem-solve effectively
  • Familiarity with security best practices and system maintenance
  • Valid Driver's Licence and ability to travel within Northwestern Ontario
  • Clear Criminal Record Check

Responsibilities
