About The Position

This role involves installing and supporting various IT components including desktop applications, printers, workstations, and IP telephones on a network. The technician will provide training, resolve user concerns through a ticketing system, remote control software, telephone, and email. Responsibilities extend to supporting mailboxes, Teams groups, SharePoint sites, team member engagement apps, and cloud services like Microsoft Office 365 and Azure apps. The position also requires supporting local and wireless network access. Driving is a requirement for this role, necessitating a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and proof of personal auto insurance. A background check and driver record check are mandatory.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a Microsoft Windows networking environment.
  • Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to quickly learn business applications and communication tools.
  • Ability to build and repair computer systems.
  • Ability to install and configure displays, printers, copiers, and scanners.
  • Ability to create active directory accounts and mailboxes after instruction.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Proof of personal auto insurance.
  • Must pass background and driver record check.

Nice To Haves

  • Will be required to travel.
  • Must be able to stay overnight on occasion.

Responsibilities

  • Install and support desktop applications and printers.
  • Install and support workstations and IP telephones on a network.
  • Provide training and resolve concerns using help desk ticketing, remote control software, telephone, and email.
  • Support mailboxes and Teams groups, SharePoint sites, and team member engagement apps.
  • Support access to Microsoft Office 365 apps, Azure apps, and other hosted cloud services.
  • Support local networks and wireless network access.
  • Configure new workstations and rebuild workstations.
  • Install Microsoft Windows, business applications, communications software, and system drivers.
  • Maintain antivirus and security updates.
  • Assist users with applications and connectivity.
  • Create and configure computer accounts, user accounts, mailboxes, and groups.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, monitors, serial devices, network devices, telephones, and printers.
  • Assist with physical installation and maintenance of network cabling.
  • Assist with installation, setup, and upgrades of software programs.
  • Advise users of email, voicemail, and file maintenance best practices.
  • Support video surveillance systems and capture recordings as needed.
  • Deploy and support classroom desktops, conference rooms, and virtual learning environments.
  • Support facility access controls, wireless network access, team member kiosks, and time and attendance apps.
  • Support power backup devices, paging, in-store radio, and PA systems.
  • Deploy and support IP phones, auto-attendant recording and call distribution, voicemail access, group roles, and number assignments.
  • Maintain records by documenting procedures used.
  • Provide required written documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain workstation inventory by recording locations and status.
  • Determine source of concern by interviewing users on the telephone.
  • Answer questions, interpret operating instructions, and provide references.
  • Determine source of error by reviewing procedures and actions taken by user, instructing user to perform diagnostic procedures.
  • Resolve problems by issuing corrective instructions and consulting with co-workers and vendors.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in technical societies.
  • Travel as required, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Attend department, organization, and other meetings/training as needed/directed.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with Workforce Development and Social Services to provide participant services.
  • Properly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain agency confidentiality.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and fire standards and all local, state, and federal regulations (WISHA & OSHA).
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and directives of Goodwill Industries assuring safety of personnel or property.
