Job Summary: Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Support Technician is primarily responsible for supporting employee hardware, software, and access issues. This position also provides technical assistance and support related to computer equipment, internal systems, or software by responding to tickets, identifying problems, and determining solutions, and escalating more complex problems when necessary. This position focuses on delivering solutions in a timely manner and executing great customer service principles. This position is part-time and located in Rochester, NY. Job Description: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Continually ensures employees’ hardware is properly configured and maintained. Performs application updates on end user machines to assist in meeting company-wide cybersecurity and compliance goals. Assists the systems administrator with upgrades to computers and other hardware to ensure systems are operating correctly. Performs maintenance and repairs to computers and other hardware to ensure systems are operating correctly. Communicates negative trends and patterns of network or system performance to be addressed by the systems administrator. Assists the systems administrator in the implementation of new employee hardware and systems. Provides technical assistance and support for tickets and issues related to computer equipment, internal systems, or software. Responds to tickets either in person, via email, or via office phone. Schedules and performs in-person service appointments with employees, at the office, to perform necessary physical maintenance on end user equipment. Maintains daily performance of employee computer systems. Trains new hires and employees on accessing CaterTrax computer systems. Maintains service levels in accordance with objectives set by management. Troubleshoots and solves issues with hardware, networking, printers, phones, or other office equipment. Performs password resets in a variety of systems for employees upon request. Completes workstation set ups as needed. Ensures proper installation of hardware, cabling, peripherals, and software. Receives shipments of company equipment, inspects for damage, and installs where applicable, in coordination with the systems administrator. Cleans computers, peripherals, and other equipment as needed. Remains current on technologies as they pertain to office systems. Provides suggestions for improvements to management. Performs other duties as assigned.
