About The Position

Join a mission-critical team as an IT Support Technician ,Journeyman at Schriever Space Force Base. This role is integral to ensuring the operational readiness of IT systems supporting national security. You’ll provide hands-on technical support, troubleshooting software, hardware, and network issues, and directly contribute to maintaining system uptime and reliability. Pay: $95,000 - $102,907

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of IT technical support and computer maintenance.
  • IAT Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+)
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent technical certification in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • (Additional experience may substitute for formal education.)
  • Required Clearance Top Secret

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite .
  • Experience supporting Windows and Apple PCs in a classified environment.
  • Associate’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Degree can substitute for total years of required experience.
  • IAT Level II Certification required (e.g., CompTIA Security+).

Responsibilities

  • System Maintenance & Support Operate and maintain networked and standalone systems across Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret-SCI levels.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and track IT-related issues through a government-provided trouble ticket system.
  • Support Tier I, II, and III help desk functions, ensuring timely resolution of all IT-related inquiries.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and internal teams to isolate and resolve system faults.
  • User Access Management Manage user accounts for both classified and unclassified networks, including account creation, deletion, and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with network procedures for provisioning and de-provisioning access on NIPRNet.
  • Maintain and process User Access Request forms in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Hardware & Software Support Perform installations, configurations, and troubleshooting for Windows and Apple PCs, network printers, and software.
  • Plan and execute technical refreshes of networked systems, ensuring smooth transitions and continued functionality.
  • Provide technical support for applications and hardware used within the facility, ensuring systems remain operational at all times.
  • Collaboration & Communication Act as the first line of customer support, providing timely responses to walk-up, phone, and email inquiries.
  • Track communication system outages, assign ticket numbers, and maintain a historical record of problem resolutions.
  • Facilitate the scheduling and coordination of VTCs (Video Teleconferences) and other technical services.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned, with flexibility during National Exercises.
