About The Position

PJHM Architects is a Lake Forest, California-based architectural firm with over 60 years of practice and a team of more than 50 professionals. We focus primarily on K-12 education design, working closely with school districts across Southern California. Technology plays a direct role in how our team collaborates and delivers projects, and the person in this role will be a valued part of keeping that running smoothly. This position is based in our Lake Forest, CA office and requires the candidate to work on-site 100% of the time. The IT Support Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day health of PJHM's technology infrastructure and the satisfaction of our end users. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all IT support needs across the firm, managing everything from user workstations and network equipment to cloud platforms and server infrastructure. You will also play an active role in shaping how we adopt and integrate new technology going forward.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in an IT support or related role.
  • Solid working knowledge of Windows operating systems, PC hardware, basic LAN concepts, and Wi-Fi networking.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security, internet applications, and general cybersecurity best practices.
  • Comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and communicating clearly with non-technical staff.
  • High school diploma with some college required.
  • Demonstrated experience and capability may substitute for formal degree requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • MacOS familiarity is a plus.
  • Experience with or exposure to AEC industry software is a plus, including Autodesk products (Revit, AutoCAD, Forma) and Bluebeam.
  • An associate's or bachelor’s degree in information technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant IT certifications are a plus but not required (CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certifications, Network+, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain core platforms including Active Directory, SharePoint (file services), Autodesk Forma, Autodesk Revit, and Veeam backup solutions.
  • Provide responsive, professional IT support to all staff across all experience levels, prioritizing clear communication and a high standard of customer service.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues both remotely and on-site, using sound diagnostic techniques and thorough follow-through.
  • Research and evaluate solutions to new and recurring technical problems, recommending improvements where applicable.
  • Plan, support, and participate in the execution of larger-scale IT projects and technology initiatives.
  • Set up, deploy, monitor, and perform routine maintenance on workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and network equipment.
  • Build, configure, and support in-house servers and maintain network infrastructure.
  • Manage and maintain an accurate inventory of all technology assets.
  • Draft and maintain technical documentation including procedures, how-to guides, and end-user tutorials.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and proactively identify opportunities to improve firm-wide IT capabilities.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
