About The Position

The IT Support Specialist is an entry level role responsible for providing technical support to staff and guests while developing skills and growing within T Bar M’s technology environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting, basic system administration, and assisting with routine IT tasks across hardware, software, and network systems. The ideal candidate is eager to grow, quick to learn, and committed to delivering excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; coursework or certification in Information Technology is a plus.
  • Foundational knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and VoIP systems.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • Flexibility for occasional evening or weekend work during peak seasons.
  • Alignment with T Bar M’s Christ-centered mission and organizational values.

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience from an internship, school IT program, or help desk environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 technical support for staff and guests, responding to help desk tickets in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot issues involving Windows workstations, Microsoft 365 apps, basic networking, and VoIP phones.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding tasks, including account setup and equipment distribution.
  • Help maintain Active Directory user accounts, password resets, and group memberships.
  • Support Microsoft 365 tasks such as mailbox adjustments, license assignments, and Teams/SharePoint access issues.
  • Assist with basic monitoring of servers, network devices, and system alerts under supervision.
  • Set up, configure, and update laptops, desktops, and peripherals (printers, projectors, etc.).
  • Perform routine maintenance, software installs, and system updates.
  • Help maintain inventory of IT assets and equipment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting Wi-Fi connectivity, network drops, and basic LAN issues.
  • Support VPN access issues for remote users.
  • Maintain accurate notes in ticketing systems and contribute to simple guides or how-to documents.
  • Help create user-friendly instructions for common technology tasks.
