About The Position

Skilled Wound Care is seeking a hands-on IT Support Specialist to provide daily, in-person IT support for our staff and maintain a clean, reliable, and well-organized technical environment in our Playa Vista office. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being the go-to person for technical issues, takes pride in organization, and has a strong foundation in both computers and mobile devices.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in a similar IT support / helpdesk role or a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware and peripherals
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems: macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android
  • Deep understanding of computers and mobile devices (configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning)
  • Working understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, routers/switches basics)
  • Familiarity with security best practices and endpoint security tools
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and cleanliness in workspace and cabling
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to support users with varying technical skill levels
  • Ability and willingness to work on-site in our Playa Vista, CA office 5 days per week
  • Must be authorized to work in the US

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with one or more of the following (or similar platforms): Hexnode (MDM), Apple Business Manager, Threatdown or similar endpoint security platforms, Other MDM or asset tracking tools.
  • Experience in a fast-paced office environment supporting multiple departments

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical support to staff for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with laptops, desktops, scanners, printers, iPhones, iPads, and other peripherals.
  • Support multiple operating systems: macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android.
  • Respond to support requests in a timely, professional manner and document issues and resolutions.
  • Set up and configure devices for new hires (computers, monitors, mobile devices, peripherals).
  • Install and configure required software, security tools, and profiles.
  • Ensure new employees are fully operational on day one with appropriate access and credentials.
  • Diagnose and perform basic to intermediate repairs on non-working assets (laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, scanners, etc.).
  • Coordinate with vendors or external repair services when needed.
  • Perform regular maintenance, updates, and optimizations to keep systems running efficiently.
  • Keep all office technical assets, workstations, and cabling clean, neat, and well-organized at all times.
  • Maintain and improve cable management in workstations, conference rooms, and networking areas.
  • Ensure shared spaces (conference rooms, hot desks, etc.) are always ready for use from a technical perspective.
  • Track and manage IT inventory using our MDM and asset tracking platforms.
  • Enroll, configure, and manage devices via MDM (e.g., Hexnode, Apple Business Manager, Threatdown or similar tools).
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of assigned devices, spare equipment, and retired assets.
  • Assist in planning hardware refreshes and ensuring sufficient stock of critical components and accessories.
  • Apply a working understanding of networking concepts (LAN/Wi-Fi fundamentals, IP addressing, basic troubleshooting).
  • Assist with basic network troubleshooting (connectivity, printers, Wi-Fi issues).
  • Implement and follow security best practices for endpoints and user accounts.
  • Support deployment and maintenance of security tools (EDR/antivirus, device encryption, OS patching, etc.).
