About The Position

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining Gregory Construction’s internal information technology infrastructure. This role is hands-on and provides day-to-day operational support across all levels of the organization. Responsibilities include administration of networking systems, servers (on-premises and cloud), end-user devices, system access, security controls, software licensing, and internal IT support. The IT Support Specialist works closely with the IT Solutions Manager to maintain reliable, secure, and efficient technology systems while ensuring documented procedures and compliance standards are followed.

Requirements

  • Associate’ degree in Computer Science or related field required.
  • CompTIA A+ / CompTIA Network+ Certifications
  • Experience with networking, Windows environments, and virtualization platforms required.
  • Experience supporting mobile devices, endpoints, and company phone systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintain confidentiality, and manage competing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of IT support or customer support experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support for companywide IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Maintain professional conduct and effective communication with all users.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work independently while escalating issues as appropriate.

  • Maintain and support all network infrastructure including on-premises and cloud servers, firewalls, VPNs, switches, and endpoints.
  • Configure, deploy, image, and decommission end-user devices including laptops, desktops, tablets, and mobile phones.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability and respond to alerts or reported issues.
  • Configure and maintain firewall, antivirus, anti-malware, and endpoint protection systems.
  • Perform patch management, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening tasks.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, user profile, printer, and shared resource issues.
  • Evaluate, plan, and assist with network maintenance, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Collect and analyze system performance data to identify improvements.
  • Provision and manage user accounts and access for new hires, role changes, and terminations.
  • Train users on proper use of hardware, software, and company IT systems.
  • Document IT procedures, standards, and policies in support of formal documentation and NIST compliance.
  • Maintain IT inventory including hardware, software, licenses, and related supplies.
  • Provide high-quality customer service and take ownership of assigned user issues through resolution.
  • Assist with additional IT-related tasks and projects as assigned.
