About The Position

The Cottonwood Technology Team (CTT) is seeking an IT Support Specialist to help maintain and support the Company’s technology infrastructure. This role works closely with associates at both the corporate office and property level, providing day-to-day technical assistance and ensuring a smooth user experience across systems. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates flexibility, and can effectively manage multiple priorities at once. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. This individual should be comfortable translating complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand solutions, while delivering friendly and responsive support. This is a full-time, hourly position based at the Company’s corporate office in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn and support new applications, and the ability to research solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong understanding of the OSI model and basic computer networking (TCP/IP, Subnets, SSH, DHCP, DNS, SMTP/IMAP).
  • Strong understanding of the Microsoft Operating System.
  • Strong understanding of basic Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Outlook and Excel).
  • A technical and logical approach to troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills are required.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the property management field preferred.
  • Additional training and/or related certifications are strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality customer service to both internal and external customers and associates.
  • Focus on improving the Company by enhancing security, architecture, and knowledge.
  • Assist associates with technology concerns and needs by providing in-person and telephone/remote support to all associates. Resolve incoming service issues and requests in a timely manner.
  • Triage and prioritize helpdesk tickets appropriately.
  • Document resolutions and solutions for future use.
  • Set up new user accounts and inactivate old user accounts with the appropriate approvals and documentation.
  • Audit all systems to report important information to Management.
  • Manage employee Wi-Fi and web security components for corporate and property computers and networks.
  • Provide initial training in facilities and applications.
  • Provide new-hire orientations to new Corporate staff.
  • Maintain knowledge of the industry by attending conferences or training relevant to business needs and technologies (with approval from the CTT Support Lead & VP of Technology).
  • Work with CTT IT Manager and/or the VP of Technology on special projects and other duties as needed and assigned.
