CPEG Buffalo LLC is seeking a full time, on site IT Support Specialist. This role supports the Enterprise network infrastructure on a Cisco platform, maintaining reliable network connectivity of all satellite locations. This role will work alongside our Managed Service Provider in the design, implementation and maintenance of infrastructure data center leveraging vSphere and Horizon view. Must have working knowledge of virtualization technology, specifically VMWare and networking with Cisco products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and two (2) to four (4) years of IT experience in manufacturing, engineering or related industry
  • Previous project management experience with implementation of enterprise solutions and enhancements preferred.
  • Experience with VMware technologies
  • Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications, procedures and techniques
  • Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operations problems.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff, vendors and peers.
  • Strong attention to detail and solid follow-up capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • High level design, implementation and maintenance of Infrastructure Data center leveraging vSphere and Horizon view
  • Establish network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
  • Establish network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures, establishing connections and firewalls.
  • Maintain network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
  • Secure network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.
  • Install, upgrade and monitor software and hardware.
  • Support ERP Systems Analyst in Server side database configuration and management
  • Support Managed Service Provider with Help Desk troubleshooting
