About The Position

The Division of Administration/Office of Technology Services has a vacancy in the Data Center Operations section. This position is located in the Data Center Operations section. The Office of Technology Services aims to be a responsible partner in delivering innovative, effective, and reliable solutions that support and enhance the IT functions within Executive Branch Departments. The Office of Technology Services will work to increase the return on the State’s investment in technology by promoting smart decision-making, solving problems intelligently, increasing the rate of project success, and fostering a skilled and professional staff. As an IT Statewide Senior Program Manager, you will lead complex, high-impact technology initiatives that support the security, reliability, and modernization of statewide data center operations. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, guide critical projects and audits, strengthen documentation and disaster recovery practices, and help drive effective change management and continuous improvement. The Division of Administration is the state government’s management arm and the hub of its financial operations. Division offices perform a wide variety of activities including the following: Overseeing the state’s capital construction program, Working to provide state and federal grants for community development, Development of the state budget, Providing technology services, Giving agencies guidance in the state purchasing and contracting process as they seek goods and services, Administering a program that provides federal funds to help Louisiana residents recover from a series of devastating hurricanes.

Requirements

  • Seven years of experience in information technology, program management, project management, or business analysis; OR
  • Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus five years of experience in information technology, program management, project management or business analysis; OR
  • An associate's degree in information technology plus five years of experience in information technology, program management, project management or business analysis; OR
  • A bachelor’s degree plus five years of experience in information technology, program management, project management or business analysis; OR
  • A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics field plus four years of experience in information technology, program management, project management or business analysis; OR
  • A master’s degree plus four years of experience in information technology, program management, project management or business analysis.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
  • A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and facilitates Datacenter Operations Server projects, including working with various teams within DCO to establish strategies and priorities for the research, development and completion of server projects and technological advancement.
  • Provides status updates to the Director and project technical teams to keep these projects on task while creating and attending meetings pertaining to these projects and potential projects for future growth, development and modernization of the DCO Server Team’s lines of service.
  • Directs, leads and facilitates IRS, LLA, and other critical audits for DCO Server Team, including receiving and organizing findings from OTS Information Security Compliance while distributing and assigning tasks to correct and comply with security standards.
  • Attends meetings with Auditors to discuss findings and vulnerabilities to keep servers and services compliant and secure.
  • Takes the lead role in documentation standards for DCO Server Team, including keeping current documentation up to date for inventory, Catalogue of Services, Disaster Recovery Planning, and procedures.
  • Meets with the Director and team members and assigns tasks to update and maintain documentation to a high standard.
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to professional development through training and learning modules so that expertise and organizational effectiveness can be grown and maintained.
  • Reviews, assists and consults with teams within OTS Datacenter Operations to schedule and approve Change Management maintenance and downtime for upgrades and improvements to systems.
  • Helps to maintain and recommend changes to our Change Management system and portal so that notifications, alerts and communication is effectively translated to the agencies for these windows.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Director, which may include unexpected projects and tasks.
