About The Position

This role provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT co-managed support for BluEarth staff within a Microsoft 365 environment. The IT Specialist will respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve internal IT service requests in a timely and customer-focused manner. This position also acts as an internal escalation point for issues that cannot be resolved by the MSP helpdesk, supports onboarding and offboarding processes, and administers Microsoft 365 services. Additionally, the role involves managing SharePoint sites, assisting with endpoint management, maintaining system security, and supporting basic network issues. The IT Specialist will also be responsible for documentation, coordinating with the MSP, providing on-site support, assisting with hardware procurement, and upholding company policies and values.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the following areas:
  • Microsoft 365 admin center
  • MDM and Intune
  • SharePoint administration
  • Power Automate and Copilot
  • Supporting communications networks with equipment from vendors such as Fortinet
  • IT helpdesk and customer service platforms (e.g. Freshservice)
  • Responding to cyber-threats
  • Content and document management in systems like SharePoint
  • Administering user accounts and system usage
  • Automation and workflows
  • Incident response techniques
  • Ability to make difficult decisions and take ownership of decisions
  • Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and manage concurrent tasks with varying deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office product such as Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel within Canada and the USA to visit operating facilities
  • Evening or weekend work may be necessary to deal with emergencies or to solve specific timely issues
  • Ability to work outside regular business hours when required

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT co-managed support for BluEarth staff in a Microsoft 365–based environment
  • Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve internal IT service requests in a timely and customer‑focused manner
  • Act as an internal escalation point for issues that cannot be effectively resolved by the MSP helpdesk
  • Support onboarding and offboarding of team members, including user accounts, devices, access permissions, and equipment setup
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, and related admin centers
  • Create and manage SharePoint sites, permissions, and disk usage
  • Assist with endpoint management, device configuration, patching, and routine maintenance
  • Help maintain the security, integrity and confidentiality of BluEarth’s communications, data, and information systems
  • Data backups, redundancy and DR experience
  • Understanding of cybersecurity standards and frameworks
  • Support basic network and connectivity issues in coordination with the MSP (no primary responsibility for firewall or advanced network architecture)
  • Maintain clear documentation for IT procedures, common issues, and system configurations
  • Coordinate with the MSP to ensure clear handoffs, efficient ticket resolution, and alignment of responsibilities
  • Provide hands‑on, on‑site IT support when required
  • Assist with hardware procurement, setup, replacement, and lifecycle management
  • Uphold all aspects of BluEarth’s Health, Safety & Environmental policies, practices, and programs
  • Uphold BluEarth’s values and consistently enhance the image and reputation of the Company
