About The Position

The IT Specialist will provide quality IT services to offices and projects across North America (USA & Canada), leveraging global support teams to deliver reliable technology solutions to enable projects and future growth. In this role, you’ll play a key role in managing data integrity and cybersecurity within the region. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering, system diagnostics, and customer support
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud applications
  • Strong understanding of the provision of remote, in-person, and onsite support in an environment with a complex distributed site network
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with remote support teams in differing time zones
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in cloud systems, configuring and managing network components, enterprise ICT environments, and MS Office365
  • Commitment to Thiess’ values of safety, discovery, accountability, respect, and empowerment
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Authorization to work lawfully in the USA without sponsorship from Thiess
  • Must be fluent in the English language

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality IT support for projects and offices, leveraging Global support teams, and ensuring appropriate structure to enable projects and support growth
  • Collaboration & engagement with Global IT and technology teams, and North American users / stakeholders across projects and regional areas
  • Proactively review the services being provided to ensure they are fit for purpose, cost effective and perform adequately
  • Ensure all systems and network services are available when required by the business and are performing as expected
  • Day to day administration of Thiess Systems and associated hardware, and user accounts
  • Install and implement hardware and software on Local Area Networks and standalone workstations, providing initial customer instruction where necessary
  • Management of inventory of hardware including cell phones
  • Ensure IT compliance and governance across the region, in accordance with Group policies
  • Scope, develop, design, mobilize and establish new projects including co-ordination of tender pricing
  • Promote & support technology initiatives, providing technical advice and support to internal/external staff when required
  • Work with stakeholders to understand needs and opportunities, and engage Global teams
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
