About The Position

The IT Specialist needs strong knowledge of computers and how they operate, which includes but not limited to having a broad understanding of hardware and software, operating systems and basic computer programming. Familiarity with electronic equipment, Internet applications and security may also be required. The IT Support Specialist will also need good communication skills as this position requires frequent interaction with clients. Essential Functions Provide support and maintenance within the organization's desktop computing environment Install, diagnose, repair, maintaining and upgrade all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstationperformance Troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via email) in a timely and accurate fashion and provideend-user assistance where required Diagnose computer problems on computer equipment and programs Monitor computer-processing systems on computer equipment and programs Install software on computer equipment and programs Perform tests on computer equipment and programs Set up computer equipment, schedule maintenance and teach clients to use programs Other job duties can include minor repairs and computer parts ordering Additional Responsibilities Basic Knowledge and understanding of Networking (Cisco, Meraki equipment, Printers) Able to work without direct supervision Troubleshooting and problem-Solving skills Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future desktop hardware and applicationneeds Conduct research on desktop products in support of PC procurement and development efforts. Evaluate andrecommend products for purchase Write technical specifications for purchase of PCs, desktop hardware and related products. Requirements

Broad understanding of hardware and software, operating systems and basic computer programming
1 - 3 years’ experience
