POSITION SUMMARY Position Summary: The I.T. Service Technician is responsible for providing first and second level I.T./Telecommunications hardware and software technical support. Service Technicians will assist end users by resolving their hardware, software, and technical service/support issues. This role ensures I.T. telephones, computers, peripherals, printers, software, equipment and maintenance - including service calls, are resolved or assigned to the proper I.T. Department section for resolution or service. Service Technicians pursue and perform the tasking related to the technical hardware life cycle of research, purchase, implement, inventory, monitor, maintain, including the repair and disposal of a variety of Organizational I.T. equipment. While the primary role of the Service Technician is end user hardware and software lifecycle tasking, the Service Technicians will also perform telecommunications, data closet and wireless system service and support. Pulling, terminating and testing category cable according to accreditation and TIA standards. As secondary I.T. Service Desk Call Center backup staff, the Service Maintenance Tech may be assigned to answer Service Desk calls. The Service Technician will assist other I.T. roles as needed and may conduct or coordinate end user training for hospital staff. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
