About The Position

Tri-County Technical College is seeking a Part-Time/Temporary IT Service Desk Support Technician for its Pendleton campus. This role is crucial as the primary point of contact for technical support issues, reporting to the Service Desk Supervisor. The technician will provide technical assistance and support for end-user requests, including the installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems' hardware and software. The ideal candidate will have the ability and desire to positively impact the IT department and the organization as a whole.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • One year of experience in office automation systems, installation, operation, repair, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in a related field
  • Two years of experience as a technician
  • Knowledge and experience in the basics of computer networking concepts
  • Knowledge and experience in management of Windows operating systems
  • A+ certification
  • Ability to maintain a strict standard of confidentiality of both personnel information and client data.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-sensitive environment to help achieve maximum efficiency and user satisfaction through proficient use of time and resources.
  • Strong work ethic putting forth effort, persistence, and pride.

  • Ability to write clear concise information in our ticket database and create knowledge documentation to share with peers and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately record all technical support requests from customers into the TeamDynamix ticketing system, gathering pertinent details for successful and prioritized engagement.
  • Provide Tier 1 support for TCTC technology and software applications via email, phone, remote assistance, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Prepare new devices for deployment using established imaging procedures.
  • Address first-level support issues such as password resets, account lockouts, drive mapping, and user setups.
  • Work at scheduled events to provide assistance and technical support.
  • Support may be required outside of normal business and operating hours.
