About The Position

The IT Senior Data Engineer role supports Operational Technology portfolio projects by managing and supporting multiple application databases within the operations technology organization. This includes applications such as Maximo, Power Plan, MWM, and GIS. The individual will support application databases, coordinate master data activities with organizational Governance teams, and maintain data documentation, including master data management, data quality, report inventory, enterprise data definitions, policies, and procedures.

Experience of building data processing pipelines for use in production “hands off” batch systems, including either traditional ETL pipelines and/or analytics pipelines.
Hands-on experience in Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration management tools and technologies: Terraform, CI/CD.
Strong Experience in agile projects and highly proficient in the agile framework
Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field. Computer Science preferred.
Five (5) to eight (8) years related experience
Any Cloud certification is required; Azure certification preferred.

Nice To Haves

Experience on Databricks, including ETL and job creation/scheduling is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database objects relevant to the application.
Support Oracle, SQL Server, or other enterprise RDBMS platforms at a technical level.
Configure and validate ODBC connections for application connectivity across environments.
Write clean, efficient, well-structured SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
Perform SQL performance tuning, including indexing strategies, query plan analysis, and code optimization.
Assist with schema design, data modeling, and normalization/denormalization decisions.
Enforce data governance standards, naming conventions, and metadata documentation.
Create dashboards or reports in Power BI.
