About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking an IT Security Specialist for a hybrid, 12+ month contract opportunity with a global financial institution. The role is based in Plano, Texas; Charlotte, North Carolina; or Pennington, New Jersey, and requires working onsite at least three days per week. The work focuses on developing and maintaining infrastructure automation to deploy and manage Confluent Kafka in internal or external cloud environments. This key individual-contributor role provides IT security and automation expertise and helps enable secure environments for business and technology groups.

Requirements

10 years of hands-on software development experience.
Hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka and automation using Terraform and Python/Ansible.
Hands-on experience developing and testing automation using Terraform and Python/Ansible.
Strong experience with Terraform.
Strong experience with Ansible Playbook and Ansible Tower.
Basic knowledge of Linux/UNIX shell scripting.
Basic knowledge of Ping Access and certificate management.
Experience with public and private cloud environments.

Nice To Haves

Experience managing large-scale enterprise deployments.
Experience with monitoring software such as Dynatrace or AppDynamics.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Familiarity with other messaging software, such as MQ/IIB, Kafka, or Tibco.
Experience with Java/J2EE.

Responsibilities

Understand and update existing automation programs and develop infrastructure automation for deploying and managing Confluent Kafka.
Gather business requirements from lines of business and design solutions with engineering and operations teams.
Work with application development and support teams to understand how messaging protocols are used in application software.
Document business requirements and develop plans to address problems or requirements.
Develop test automation and troubleshoot issues during testing.
Analyze IT security standards and policies for multiple high-complexity projects.
Provide IT security and automation expertise, identify potential threats and risks, and make recommendations.
