About The Position

The Duke University Information Technology Security Intern (ITSO) will focus primarily on helping within the Operational side of the ITSO team. Specifically, helping with monitoring communications (tickets, emails, alerts) and applications (i.e. Splunk) to detect and react to security issues. The ITSO intern will help with identifying compromised accounts, attacks against the university, and compromised machines; assisting the ITSO team with notifications out to the Duke community regarding machines that have vulnerabilities or machines that have been infected with malware that need attention; responding to phishing attacks (dealing with the attacks, mitigating the threat, focusing on the accounts impacted, and alerting the community). The ITSO intern’s work will also include ITSO awareness and outreach initiatives as needed.

  • Must be a non-Duke student.

Responsibilities
