About The Position

The IT Security Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the organization’s security posture. This role supports both strategic and operational security functions, including risk management, infrastructure and network security, personnel and physical security, and IT support. The position also contributes to internal audits, vendor assessments, and ensures compliance with best practices and organizational policies. The role requires availability at the organization’s offices at any time as needed, with a minimum on-site presence of three days per week or more - in addition there will be some interstate and potential international travel required as we continue to expand our operations. Please note our LA offices are yet to be finalized so the actual office location is subject to change.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Linux and Windows server management and security.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture and network security principles.
  • Experience in risk assessment, vendor security reviews, and mitigation planning.
  • Familiarity with physical and personnel security practices and clearance processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Level 1 and 2 IT support in desktop and server environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Level 1, 2 and 3 IT/ITS support in different cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of access control, auditing, and compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessments and data classification exercises across systems and processes.
  • Develop and maintain mitigation action plans for identified risks.
  • Perform vendor and supply chain security assessments and periodic reviews.
  • Support the organisation in maintaining a strong and resilient security posture aligned with best practices.
  • Implement and maintain security controls across infrastructure, networks, and endpoints.
  • Conduct internal audit activities to verify the effectiveness of security measures.
  • Ensure user access controls are in place and reviewed regularly.
  • Monitor and support physical security measures across office locations.
  • Initiate and review personnel security clearance processes (e.g., US/AU government clearances).
  • Maintain clearance records and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with IT implementations and provide quick resolutions for desktop and infrastructure issues.
  • Provide Level 1 and 2 support for network and server-related incidents.
  • Deliver Level 1 and 2 desktop support across office environments.
  • Manage and support Linux and Windows servers, ensuring secure configurations and patching.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network and network security issues.
  • Support infrastructure upgrades and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage, support, monitor and troubleshoot cloud environments and IAM.
