About The Position

Cumulus Media (Atlanta, GA) has an immediate, fully remote (US-based) opening for an IT Security Analyst to join our Corporate IT team. This role will have oversight for various information security functions including protecting the organization to function, enable safe operation of applications implemented on the organization’s IT systems, protect the data the organization collects and uses. Additionally, the role will be responsible for creating, implementing and refining policies and procedures to optimize efficiencies related to close activities. The role will report directly to the SVP, Information Technology and Security and work closely with other technology leaders and provide key support to the business unit leaders and field personnel.

Requirements

  • 1–2+ years of experience in information security, IT, or related field required
  • Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including threats, vulnerabilities, and controls
  • Familiarity with incident response lifecycle (detection, analysis, containment, recovery)
  • Ability to analyze logs and security data from systems such as Windows, firewalls, and identity platforms
  • Basic understanding of network security, patching, firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection/prevention concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, IT security, or a related field preferred, but not required
  • Broadcasting or media industry experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, triage, and investigate security alerts across endpoints, identity systems, networks, and cloud platforms
  • Analyze logs and telemetry (e.g., SIEM, EDR, identity platforms) to identify suspicious activity and determine root cause
  • Support incident response activities including triage, escalation, containment, and documentation
  • Respond to security service desk tickets, including access anomalies and potential incidents
  • Document incidents and contribute to post-incident reviews and continuous improvement efforts
  • Review vulnerability findings and communicate risk and remediation recommendations
  • Assist with security assessments and evaluate the impact of identified risks
  • Support development and improvement of security policies, procedures, and controls
  • Perform access reviews and user entitlement audits across systems
  • Support identity governance and least-privilege practices
  • Assist with internal and external audit activities
  • Support compliance with frameworks such as NIST (800-61, CSF), ISO 27001, PCI, and SOC 2
