Bow Valley College is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented recent graduate to join our team as an IT Risk & Compliance Analyst Intern. Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, Cybersecurity and Compliance, this role plays a key part in supporting internal IT Services (ITS) audits and responding to emerging audit and risk assessment requirements. The successful candidate will contribute to initiatives that strengthen the College’s ability to meet evolving compliance and technological standards, while gaining hands-on experience with industry-recognized frameworks and audit practices. Responsibilities include supporting and performing a range of ITS audits—internal, regulatory, governmental, insurance, and accreditation-related—while assisting Cybersecurity & Compliance and ITS leadership throughout annual audit cycles. The intern will help identify and mitigate audit risks, support audit planning and documentation aligned with best practice frameworks such as COBIT, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), NIST Privacy Framework, CSA STAR (including Valid-AI-ted requirements), and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF), and contribute to maintaining the annual audit schedule and plan. Additionally, the role involves supporting the analysis and resolution of operational IT risk incidents in collaboration with the IT Risk & Compliance Analyst. The ideal candidate holds a post-secondary diploma in an IT-related field, with preference given to those who have completed the Post-Baccalaureate Cybersecurity Diploma. This internship is designed specifically for recent graduates of Bow Valley College who are eager to build a career in IT risk, cybersecurity, and compliance within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. If your education was received internationally we will require you provide an international education assessment through IQAS, WES, or one of the other nationally designated organizations upon hire. Closing Date: May 4, 2026 This opening is a temporary (exempt) position, with an anticipated duration of one year. Please note all successful candidates will be required to provide copies of government issued identification and proof of educational qualifications upon hire and may be required to provide an enhanced police information check.
