About The Position

Connexus Hub Inc. is seeking an IT Project Manager to support IT investment management and governance for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This role is crucial for ensuring the IT portfolio aligns with CDC requirements, involving tracking investments and projects, guiding project teams through the Enterprise Performance Life Cycle (EPLC), and managing the administrative aspects of the CDC IT governance council. The position is remote, with occasional in-person meetings required at the CDC in Atlanta, and is contingent on contract award.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree.
Five or more years of IT project or program management experience.
Experience with CDC or other federal IT portfolio management, capital planning, or IT governance.
Working knowledge of CPIC processes and federal IT project management practices.
Experience tracking cost and schedule performance and writing status and variance reports for senior leaders.
Strong writing skills.
U.S. citizenship.
Ability to pass a Tier 2 Moderate-Risk Public Trust background investigation.
Ability to obtain a CDC PIV card.
Availability during CDC core hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday).
Occasional after-hours support availability.

Nice To Haves

PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Hands-on experience with the EPLC framework and stage-gate reviews, ideally at CDC.
Prior work supporting CDC IT management or governance.
Experience preparing IT business cases, capital planning exhibits, or operational analyses.
Experience supporting a governance board or investment review board as secretariat.
Familiarity with CDC tools and systems for IT portfolio tracking and systems inventory.

Responsibilities

Monitor cost, schedule, and performance data for CDC IT investments, identify variances and risks, and recommend corrective actions.
Consult with project teams on EPLC requirements, stage gates, and necessary documentation, tracking decisions and artifacts.
Support CDC CPIC data calls and portfolio requests, providing advice on business cases, charters, and project management plans.
Review and validate system records in CDC's enterprise systems inventory and resolve data quality issues.
Coordinate operational analyses for CDC IT investments, including data collection, validation, report writing, and tracking completion.
Serve as secretariat for the CDC IT governance council, maintaining its charter, scheduling reviews, preparing agendas and briefing materials, distributing minutes, and tracking action items and decisions.
Write and maintain standard operating procedures for CPIC, EPLC, governance, and portfolio work, and propose process improvements.
Develop job aids and training materials to educate CDC staff on CPIC and EPLC processes.
Deliver monthly status briefings, an annual summary report, and other contract reports accurately and on time.
