About The Position

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven IT Project Manager to support critical cybersecurity and data privacy initiatives at the Thurgood Marshall Building. This role is ideal for a strategic technical professional with deep expertise in cyber operations, risk management, and security compliance who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments. The selected candidate will serve as a key liaison between technical teams, leadership, vendors, and external stakeholders while driving innovative solutions that strengthen organizational security posture and privacy capabilities. This position offers the opportunity to lead impactful projects, evaluate emerging technologies, and contribute to high-level initiatives focused on protecting sensitive information and advancing cybersecurity best practices.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or other closely related discipline.
  • 8-10 years of experience conducting investigations/research and problem-solving for critical incidents
  • Knowledge of security best practices, risk analysis, cyber operations, network security, compliance requirements, and security frameworks like NIST
  • Experience in Assessment and Authorization and Certification and Accreditation
  • Knowledge of computer programming languages such as C++, Basic.Net, Java, Python, and HTML
  • Knowledge of operating systems (e.g. Mac OS X, Novell Netware, Windows and Linux) and application servers

Responsibilities

  • Participates in technical requirements meetings to understand gaps.
  • Identifies new and ongoing research and development efforts or potential solutions within the data privacy industry.
  • Is aware of, and adheres to, organization policies and programs when making suggestions for improvements.
  • Maintains communication with stakeholder and external customers and markets existing products, services, and capabilities available from the customer
  • Participates in vendor technology demonstrations and provides Executive Summaries to leadership.
  • Displays expert and innovative use of scientific concepts and privacy-related principles, and practices and contributes to advanced methods and techniques.
  • Provides technical insight for addressing problems that are difficult to define, require unconventional or novel approaches, and require sophisticated analytical techniques.
  • Has acquired outstanding knowledge and competence in one or more specific technical and/or operational areas.
  • Undertakes routine program/administrative functions and participates in the resolution of more complex program issues through the application of established practices and procedures and conducting research and analysis.
  • Remains abreast of program/project changes or changes in the PII management field and recommends best practices for introduction into current efforts when applicable.
  • Communicates with all levels of personnel within the program and those affiliated with universities, industry, and scholars.
  • Establishes and maintains external collaborations with industry; active in a variety of technologies, specifically cyber concentrations.
  • Engages in security compliance meetings, facilitates scientific and data exchanges.
  • Maintains communication with customers and markets existing products, services, and company capabilities.
  • May participate in special project, research, technology demonstrations, assessments or piloting of new technologies.
