About The Position

Cimarron is seeking mid-level IT Project Managers to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area or at the Redstone Arsenal in the Huntsville, AL area.

Requirements

  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • This position requires access to federal facilities.
  • Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
  • Active Secret Clearance (or higher).
  • 4 or more years of general, full-time work experience.
  • Years of experience may be reduced with completion of advanced education.
  • 3 or more years of direct experience in IT project management, including managing high-dollar projects.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, and emerging technologies.
  • Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to obtain a DoW Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • PMP certification.
  • ITIL certification.
  • Understanding of Agile Methodologies.
  • Earned Value Management and Cost Account Manager (CAM) experience.
  • Experience managing resources between functional teams while supporting shared resource needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential project challenges.
  • Establish project governance and communication protocols.
  • Guide and support the team in its adoption of Agile methodologies, facilitating a smooth transition and fostering an Agile mindset.
  • Lead and manage geographically dispersed project teams, providing guidance, motivation, and performance feedback.
  • Maintain day-to-day execution of defined project tasks, sprints, and schedules.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, ensuring clear communication and action items.
  • Monitor project progress and performance against plan, identifying and addressing deviations.
  • Track project budget and expenditures, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Manage project risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Utilize project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) to effectively manage projects.
  • Ensure project management artifacts (schedules, action items, status reports) are maintained accurately.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Act as a liaison between the IT department and other business units.
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards.
  • Conduct project closure activities, including documentation, knowledge transfer, and stakeholder sign-off.
  • Evaluate project performance and identify lessons learned for future projects.
  • Prepare and present project reports to management.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in project management.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of project management methodologies and processes.
