About The Position

Medical Mutual is seeking an IT Project Manager for a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week on-site in their Dublin, Ohio office. Applicants should reside within a 50-mile radius of the Dublin, Ohio office. Medical Mutual, founded in 1934, is a leading health insurance company in Ohio, providing a range of insurance plans to over 1.2 million members. The IT Project Manager will lead enterprise projects and teams, ensuring delivery within established IT project management standards, methodologies (Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban), timelines, and budgets. This role involves planning, developing, and implementing the project lifecycle, providing guidance to team members for process improvement, and collaborating cross-functionally to remove barriers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 years of experience managing successful IT projects using a formal methodology life cycle and software development methodology (for IT Project Manager II).
  • 5 years of experience managing successful IT projects using a formal methodology life cycle and software development methodology (for IT Project Manager III).
  • 7 years of experience managing successful IT projects using a formal methodology life cycle and software development methodology (for IT Project Manager IV).
  • Experience in dealing with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and vendor management (for IT Project Manager IV).
  • Strong knowledge of Waterfall project management and/or Agile scrum master methodologies/processes.
  • Working knowledge of the applications development life cycle and infrastructure processes (for IT Project Manager II).
  • Advanced knowledge of the applications development life cycle and infrastructure processes (for IT Project Manager III).
  • Appropriate methodology certification preferred as offered through the Project Management Institute (PMI) (for IT Project Manager IV).

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred for Waterfall professionals (for IT Project Manager IV).

Responsibilities

  • Manage all stages of assigned IT projects with management support, including planning, implementing, and monitoring activities.
  • Develop appropriate methodology plans and activities with tasks, resources, milestones, cost analysis, and timelines in collaboration with IT line managers and team members.
  • Provide project communications to all levels and work with project sponsors or product owners to resolve issues, address changes, and identify risks.
  • Provide business analysis by understanding business needs and working with IT to identify technical, architectural, and design solutions.
  • Identify future business needs, particularly from a strategic perspective.
  • Contribute to ongoing IT project leadership process improvement through peer reviews, recommendations, and adherence to methodology standards.
  • Provide IT project leadership methodology education to share lessons learned and best practices with peer IT project managers (for PM III).
  • Train business areas on their vital roles in IT projects (for PM III).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Engage in continuous education and staff development.
