About The Position

Leads and oversees all aspects of complex, enterprise-level IT projects supporting supply chain operations to ensure delivery on time, within scope, and within budget. Accountable for managing project scope, financials, schedules, internal resources, external vendors, and contractual deliverables. Provides strategic insight and executive-level reporting on project status, risks, and business impact. Operates with a high degree of autonomy while aligning technology initiatives with organizational goals. Applies advanced critical thinking and strategic analysis to resolve high-impact, complex, and cross-functional business and technology challenges. Makes timely, well-informed decisions in environments with competing priorities and ambiguous requirements, consistently delivering successful outcomes. Operates with significant autonomy and latitude, often addressing situations with little precedent that require innovative thinking and new approaches. Exercises sound judgment under conditions of uncertainty while balancing technical constraints and business objectives. Leads and contributes to the development of innovative solutions for complex strategic and operational problems, often involving multiple departments, systems, and external partners. Influences organizational direction and contributes to long-term technology and supply chain strategies.

Requirements

  • Must be within 180 days of separating from Active Duty, with an approval to attend a Skillbridge or HOH Cohort.
  • Requires 8+ years of experience managing complex IT projects, including enterprise-level implementations; OR a Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale technology initiatives within supply chain environments, including WMS, TMS, ERP, or related systems.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and oversees all aspects of complex, enterprise-level IT projects supporting supply chain operations to ensure delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Accountable for managing project scope, financials, schedules, internal resources, external vendors, and contractual deliverables.
  • Provides strategic insight and executive-level reporting on project status, risks, and business impact.
  • Operates with a high degree of autonomy while aligning technology initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Leads one or more large-scale, cross-functional IT projects from initiation through delivery and post-implementation support by facilitating stakeholder alignment and governance routines.
  • Develops, analyzes, and manages comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource forecasts.
  • Oversees project financials, including cost tracking, forecasting, and ROI analysis, providing recommendations and justification for budget decisions.
  • Monitors overall project performance against established plans and adjusts strategies as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Identifies, escalates, and resolves complex issues while supporting RFI/RFP processes, vendor selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Manages the work of multiple project teams, including internal staff and external partners, by aligning resources to project priorities based on skills, capacity, and project demands.
  • Communicates a clear vision of project goals, objectives, and success metrics.
  • Coordinates cross-functional team activities to ensure timely delivery of key milestones.
  • Provides mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback to junior project managers, analysts, and team members to drive a high-performance culture.
  • Directs risk management efforts across multiple projects by proactively identifying potential risks, analyzing trigger events, and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Establishes contingency plans, anticipates dependencies across systems and teams, and adapts to evolving business and technical requirements.
  • Influences leadership to take proactive action on risk mitigation strategies to minimize impact on delivery.
  • Drives alignment, buy-in, and engagement among diverse stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, vendors, and executive leadership.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships while facilitating decision-making and resolving competing priorities.
  • Provides strategic recommendations to program leadership to support goal setting, prioritization, and successful project delivery.
  • Translates complex technical initiatives into clear business value and outcomes.
  • Ensures adherence to enterprise project management standards, governance frameworks (e.g., Agile, ITIL, SOX), and security protocols.
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives by capturing lessons learned, optimizing processes, and driving efficiencies through Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and communicates key performance metrics and project outcomes to stakeholders and the broader project management community.
