About The Position

This role is a critical, hands-on technical resource on our Service Delivery team, bridging the gap between our frontline support and our senior engineering staff. The Client Systems Project Engineer is responsible for the full lifecycle management of our end-user computing environment, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. This individual will serve as a primary point of contact for complex technical escalations and will have a heavy responsibility for the technical planning and integration of new business acquisitions. The role is critical to ensuring our employees have secure, reliable, and efficient tools, and will work to automate, streamline, and improve client systems management processes. Travel Requirement: Regular travel up to 30% of the time to support on-site project work, especially during M&A activities and large-scale deployments.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in desktop engineering, endpoint management, or client systems administration.
  • Strong proficiency with modern endpoint management platforms such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM), Microsoft Intune, and Windows Autopilot.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows 10/11 and macOS operating systems in an enterprise environment.
  • Crucial proficiency in PowerShell for tasks related to user management, data migration, and system configuration automation.
  • Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), and Microsoft Entra ID. Experience with tools and processes for migrating users, groups, and permissions between domains is required.
  • Knowledge of tenant-to-tenant migrations and expertise in migrating mailboxes, SharePoint data, and Teams configurations. Well-experienced in the administration of Office 365, including email, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Experience managing iOS and Android devices with an MDM/UEM solution.
  • Experience in maintaining, supporting, and building virtual server environments such as VMWare, Hyper-V, and Scale.
  • Familiarity with basic network topology, network terminology (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and physical connectivity requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical planning and execution of IT system integrations for newly acquired companies.
  • Perform domain migrations and account consolidations.
  • Oversee end-user device migrations and network infrastructure alignment.
  • Perform after-hours and weekend work as needed to support critical cutovers and go-live events during M&A projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and deploy standardized operating system images for Windows and macOS environments using tools like Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM), Microsoft Intune, and Windows Autopilot.
  • Manage the physical and virtual endpoint lifecycle from procurement and deployment to maintenance and retirement.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all client hardware and software assets.
  • Package, test, and deploy software applications, updates, and security patches to all managed endpoints.
  • Manage enterprise software licenses and ensure compliance across the organization.
  • Maintain the corporate software library and troubleshoot application deployment issues.
  • Administer the monthly patch cycle for operating systems and third-party applications to mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Manage and monitor endpoint security solutions, including anti-virus/anti-malware, disk encryption, and host-based firewalls.
  • Ensure all endpoints comply with company security policies and respond to security incidents related to client systems.
  • Configure, deploy, and manage corporate-owned and user-owned mobile devices (iOS, Android) using a Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) platform like Microsoft Intune.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, manage applications, and secure corporate data on all mobile endpoints.
  • Serve as a Level 3 escalation point for the IT Service Desk and Field Service Engineers for complex endpoint-related issues.
  • Independently manage and prioritize a personal ticket queue, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
  • Proactively monitor the health of the endpoint environment and generate reports on device compliance, patch status, and software deployment success.
