As the IT Program Director supporting M&A Business Process and Systems Strategy, you will lead the transaction-level business process and systems strategy across the full lifecycle, from due diligence and sign-to-close planning through Day 1 readiness, systems integration or separation, stabilization, and post-close value realization. In this strategic integration leadership role, you will turn transaction and diligence findings into cross-functional business process and systems decisions. You’ll define targets and interim states, migration or adoption strategies, sequencing, and make recommendations across major end-to-end value streams. You will also coordinate Integration Leads, business partners, IT Value Streams, Enterprise Architecture, acquired-company teams, and strategic partners to align on a practical path to Medtronic standards and transaction value. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of experience with an advanced degree
  • 7+ years of managerial experience
  • Significant experience leading business systems or technology strategy for acquisitions, carve-outs, separations, or other complex business transactions.
  • Working knowledge of SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA, plus the adjacent applications, data, integrations, controls, and business processes needed to evaluate platform dependencies, migration options, and trade-offs; this is not a SAP functional delivery role.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect end-to-end business processes and value streams—including Lead to Order, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Plan to Make/Deliver, and Design to Release—to applications, data, integrations, controls, and operating models across a complex global enterprise.
  • Experience driving application portfolio rationalization, process harmonization, target-state and interim-state planning, capability preservation, or transition decisions across multiple business and technology domains.
  • Experience leading strategic programs through matrixed teams and external partners, with accountability for decisions, dependencies, risks, and outcomes without direct reporting authority.
  • Experience influencing senior business leaders, IT Value Streams, Enterprise Architecture, process owners, acquired-company teams, and technology partners through clear recommendations and trade-off decisions.
  • Experience translating complex process and systems landscapes into decision-ready roadmaps with clear milestones, dependencies, owners, risks, and outcomes.
  • Experience leading or challenging major system integrators, consulting partners, or advisory firms supporting business systems and technology transformation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical technology, life sciences, healthcare, regulated manufacturing, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Experience across one or more complex business and technology domains, such as R&D, Product Development, PLM, Commercial, CRM, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, manufacturing, supply chain, data, or analytics.
  • Experience leading major enterprise platform implementations, deployments, migrations, or transformation programs, including SAP ECC or S/4HANA, in global, multi-business-unit environments.
  • Experience with transactions ranging from approximately $100M to $1B in enterprise value, including tuck-in acquisitions, carve-outs, divestitures, or transition service agreements.
  • Experience identifying acquired capabilities that should be preserved, scaled, or advanced as part of an enterprise roadmap.
  • Experience developing business capability maps, process architectures, application portfolios, system maps, integration patterns, or enterprise platform roadmaps.
  • Experience operating within a large, global, matrixed organization.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Define the transaction-level business process and systems strategy across acquisitions, carve-outs, separations, and divestitures, including the end-to-end value streams Lead to Order, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Plan to Make/Deliver, Design to Release, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Commercial, R&D, Supply Chain, and connected platforms.
  • Translate diligence findings, deal objectives, business capabilities, and value drivers into integration recommendations, roadmaps, dependencies, risks, costs, and decision requirements.
  • Map end-to-end business processes and value streams, applications, data, integrations, controls, and organizational handoffs across Lead to Order, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Plan to Make/Deliver, Design to Release, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Commercial, R&D, Product Development, and adjacent domains.
  • Drive timely decisions on process standardization, local exceptions, capability preservation, application retention or retirement, platform adoption or coexistence, migration and transition approach, sequencing, and business readiness.
  • Define target-state and interim-state business systems approaches that balance speed, cost, risk, compliance, business continuity, scalability, and enterprise standards.
  • Facilitate decision alignment across IT Value Streams, Enterprise Architecture, process owners, business leaders, acquired-company teams, Integration Leads, and external system integrators; frame conflicts, recommend options, and escalate decisions when required.
  • Identify differentiating capabilities acquired through transactions that should be preserved, scaled, or incorporated into Medtronic enterprise roadmaps.
  • Facilitate integration decision-making with Integration Leads, business partners, IT Value Streams, and the IT M&A lead; surface critical decisions, dependencies, risks, and outcomes without assuming detailed delivery or deployment ownership.
  • Build reusable business systems integration patterns across applications, data, integrations, and process domains, along with playbooks, decision frameworks, estimation models, system-mapping templates, and lessons learned that improve speed, predictability, and quality across transactions.
