About The Position

This is a 12-month contract position located at the New Castle Regional Office (NCRO) in Newark, Delaware. The role requires the individual to operate independently and take ownership of datacenter operations, including coordinating with DCO for tasks like cable plans and racking. Responsibilities include addressing wiring concerns (ethernet and fiber), replacing server and storage hardware failures, and managing serial communications. The position also involves zoning Cisco MDS switches, installing VMware, configuring out-of-band management on Dell and HPE servers, imaging workstations, and maintaining strong communication skills. The individual will interact daily with control room shift managers to address IT needs and should be familiar with Windows 10/11. This role is described as wearing many hats, indicating a broad range of IT responsibilities. The contract is for 24 months and supports BSC - 00916 - BSC RTSS & Backhaul/Mesh Ops. The preferred location is Newark, Delaware, and the candidate must be local.

Requirements

• Experienced IT professional comfortable working on data center infrastructure.
• Familiarity with rack and stack of servers, network gear, and storage.
• Comfortable tracing and testing fiber and network cabling.
• Comfortable handling break/fix situations for server and workstation hardware.
• Skills: Troubleshooting hardware, HPE and Dell servers, SAN, ticketing systems, change management, break/fix, rack and stack, networking, ipv4/6, and ILO configuration.
• Familiar with Windows 10/11.
• Familiar with serial communications.
• Must be local to Newark, Delaware.

Responsibilities

• Operate independently and own datacenter operations.
