About The Position

Samsung SDS America is seeking a highly strategic and analytical IT Procurement Specialist to manage the end-to-end sourcing and lifecycle of our technology assets. Moving beyond transactional purchasing, this role is critical to building competitive advantage through intelligent vendor management, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis, and proactive risk mitigation. Partnering directly with IT, Finance, and Legal, you will own the procurement strategy for hardware, software, and IT infrastructure, ensuring our teams have the technology they need while optimizing spend and ensuring strict compliance with service level agreements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in IT Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Vendor Management, specifically handling hardware, software (SaaS and on-premise), and IT infrastructure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of IT vendors, enterprise software licensing models, and IT asset management lifecycles.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis and build data-driven business cases for technology investments.
  • Proven track record of negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and SLAs with tier-one technology vendors.
  • Proficiency with ERP and internal procurement/PO systems, alongside advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and competing requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with hiring managers, business leaders, vendors, and candidates.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when handling contracts, invoices, candidate information, and other business records.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with external vendors.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and suppliers for hardware, software, and IT infrastructure.
  • Maintain and manage strategic relationships with key technology partners and vendors to ensure priority support and competitive pricing.
  • Conduct regular vendor performance reviews to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and quality standards.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from analyzing internal purchase requests to issuing Purchase Orders (POs) and finalizing deliveries.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and licensing agreements to optimize cost savings without compromising quality or operational speed.
  • Coordinate directly with the Finance department to ensure timely payment processing and strict budget alignment.
  • Collaborate with IT engineering and operations teams to define technical specifications for hardware (laptops, servers, network devices) and software requirements.
  • Oversee the IT asset lifecycle, including tracking procurement dates, warranty expirations, and coordinating hardware refreshes.
  • Manage software license compliance and enterprise renewals to prevent service interruptions and mitigate legal risks.
  • Develop and monitor the annual IT procurement budget, providing executive leadership with regular reports on spending trends and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Conduct market research and benchmarking to stay ahead of IT product trends and global pricing fluctuations.
  • Analyze Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for major IT investments to provide data-driven purchasing recommendations to management.
  • Ensure all procurement activities strictly adhere to corporate policies and legal regulations.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks by diversifying vendor sources and proactively monitoring global logistics trends.
  • Review and negotiate complex vendor contracts in close collaboration with the Legal team to protect company interests.
