About The Position

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing the project portfolio for a specific Business Unit or group within tkMNA. The Portfolio Manager is an important conduit between IT and the Business Unit or group and should have a bird’s eye view of all of its IT demand and activities. This role will support thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services (tkscs). This Business Unit has been providing Warehousing and Distribution, Asset-Based Transportation and Quality Solutions to the automotive, renewable energy, commercial construction, heavy industrial, eCommerce, and manufacturing industries since 1966.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • 5 or more years of project management experience, program management experience or portfolio management experiences, including 5 or more years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment
  • Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs
  • Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas in order to achieve a common business objective
  • Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment
  • Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
  • Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills; both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management
  • Team-building skills with technical and non-technical staff
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Technically competent with various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Microsoft Project, SmartSheet
  • Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies
  • Support diverse and inclusive work environment
  • Knowledge of business practices and technology implementation.
  • Skilled in organizing and prioritizing work of competing importance or deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business
  • Manage Infrastructure projects from inception to closure
  • Measure, rank, and prioritize projects and programs
  • Align projects and programs to strategic initiatives
  • Provide leadership within IT related to projects or programs in their portfolio
  • Advocate for responsible Business Unit within IT
  • Build and manage relationships with business unit portfolio teams
  • Communicate and collaborate across multiple levels of business and technology teams
  • Report on portfolio metrics
