POSITION SUMMARY: The IT Portfolio Analyst plays a critical role within the IT PMO, responsible for managing and analyzing project, program, and portfolio financial data to support effective decision-making and ensure financial health across multiple initiatives. The incumbent provides insightful reporting, forecasting, and analysis to project/program managers and senior leadership, contributing to the successful execution of projects and strategic objectives. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILTIES: Work closely with IT Project Managers to develop, monitor, and analyze project budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures within Clarity PPM. Track project financial performance against baselines, identifying variances and trends. Facilitate project financial reviews, providing detailed analysis and recommendations for corrective actions. Manage and reconcile project-related invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports within Clarity PPM and other financial systems as needed. Support the capitalization process for eligible project costs, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting. Assist in the development of business cases for new projects, developing budgetary cost plans, providing financial modeling, and cost-benefit analysis. Plan and submit accruals to the accounting team. Access Oracle to review POs and invoices as needed. Coordinate with vendors, where appropriate, to plan for incoming spend, changes to POs, or new work orders. Monitor project resource allocations and work to communicate and mitigate associated gaps and risks. Aggregate and analyze financial data across the project, program and/or portfolio using Clarity PPM. Develop and maintain portfolio-level financial reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Support the annual planning and budgeting cycles for the project portfolio, working with stakeholders to establish financial targets and allocate resources effectively. Perform scenario planning and financial impact analysis for portfolio changes, such as new project introductions, scope changes, or project cancellations. Identify and analyze portfolio-wide financial risks and opportunities, then work with project team members to provide recommendations for mitigation or optimization. Prepare and present executive-level financial summaries and insights on portfolio performance. Serve as the financial data expert for Clarity PPM, ensuring data integrity while developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting custom reports and dashboards to meet business requirements. Provide comprehensive support for Clarity PPM's financial functionalities, including data extraction and analysis, issue resolution, and stakeholder training. Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and forecasting for projects and portfolios, identifying cost drivers and efficiency opportunities while providing detailed variance analysis to improve future projections. Drive continuous improvement of IT PMO financial processes and methodologies, ensuring adherence to policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements, including support for internal and external audits. Collaborate with leadership, project managers, and financial analyst colleagues to optimize portfolio performance, refine role expectations, and achieve operational excellence across financial management functions.
