About The Position

Nucor Business Technology (NBT) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of IT Operations Team Lead located at NSIN (Nucor Steel Indiana). This position will work closely with division leadership to understand business needs and ensure the IT infrastructure and technology support needs of all NSIN and NTSIN (Nucor Towers and Structures Indiana) locations are met. The IT Operations Team Lead will provide leadership, support, and development for the NSIN and NTSIN IT team, leading the technical infrastructure planning and support, provide senior level technical experience, guide day-to-day activities, and ensure work and projects are progressing in a timely and effective manner. This role will also work closely with NBT Shared Services to align local business needs with enterprise technology capabilities, standards, and support models. In addition, this position will play a key role in supporting and accelerating AI and automation initiatives that improve business processes and team effectiveness. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Business Technology (NBT) will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future). Requirements

5+ years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure and Operations, including configuring and managing server environments
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field or 7+ years of relevant experience in IT Infrastructure and Operations
Demonstratable experience leading a team or large projects with other team members
3+ years experience with VMware design and administration
5+ years of significant experience with Veeam or other backup systems
5+ years with security patching operating systems and infrastructure

Nice To Haves

7+ years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure and Operations
Managing virtual cloud platforms such as VMWare Environments, VMware Cloud Foundations (VCF) and/or Azure Computing, including storage, network, and container applications
Manufacturing-related IT experience with OT environments and systems
Linux administration experience
SQL Server and Oracle database management or knowledge
Scripting experience, including but not limited to PowerShell and bash script
Experience with data center design including environmental control requirements

Responsibilities

Managing virtual local or cloud platforms such as VMWare environments and/or Azure Computing, including storage and networking
Windows server administration
Lead security and system patching and drive security culture
Active Directory, Certificates, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Entra ID, MS365 administration
Data backup, testing, and recovery
Work a rotational on-call IT support schedule to include evenings and weekends as assigned
Provide mentorship to IT infrastructure and technical support peers
Translating business needs into technical solutions and keeping leadership informed about risks, progress, and resource needs
